What the song is about

“I Got Love” is a song by Miyagi & Endshpil, a hip-hop duo from Vladikavkaz in North Ossetia, featuring the rapper Rem Digga. It came out in September 2016 on the duo's label, Hajime Records, and Endshpil later took the stage name Andy Panda. Its music video, released in June 2017, became the first Russian-language music video to pass one billion views on YouTube, in December 2024. In our translation the song is one long night of dancing: summer, sea and sand, music, smoke and a crowd in a frenzy until morning. The singer calls the girl a daughter of the carnival and a princess of the ball, and names her his rumba, samba, salsa and tango. Again and again he says he cannot get enough of her. When the club starts to doze off at dawn, he promises to steal her away and asks her to let her hair down.

You completely enveloped me
You’re my vibe, like marijuana
The sky was full of diamonds, summer was flying by
You're my baby, a daughter of the carnival

Move, baby, princess of the ball
A night of change, thoughts like a Rastafarian
Until I got tired, the music played
Some were smoking, others already high

That crazy Duremar girl, to us she's.
I thought you had flown off to warmer places
Summer, sea, and sand, but it’s not enough without you
I’m dancing all out, hands up to the ceiling

To where I fell from,
I won’t go back
Somehow I got away and took the sadness with me
This is our life, and it’s never enough for her

I’m dancing all out, hands up to the ceiling my favorite show
My head was swaying, bachata playing, ma-na-ma
A ton of fools, of cash and profit
Give us tons of that stuff

When that day comes, sing about yourself
About me, for love, for your mom, for your brother
Or life will bend you, hit you hard
I'm like a Cossack boss

In a hot tango, a music lover
A badman’s got control of me
Dance, so primitive
Dance, so impulsively

Dance, child of the carnival
Out here on the dance floor
I couldn’t get enough of you
Jah Bless!

We'll cover the windows
Let's be again the princess and the tyrant
Your fire can’t be won with praise we’re going wild
And over the years, we’ll break free together

To instantly fly around.
.the world: That’s nothing
Then the rain drums, melancholy and sadness
But you, by the light of kindness, lit up this freedom

We moved our hips dancing
You're my rumba, you are my samba
You're my salsa, you are my tango
Turn up the smoke, crank up the volume

In these arms, come fly with me come fly with me come fly with me
(last 2 lines x2)
Turn up the smoke, crank up the volume
In these arms, come fly with me

It’s all just a game, maybe, probably
Even your nakedness
Woah baby, I don't believe it!
Fall into my arms, my beauty

You and I have no guide, as it should be
You touched my soul with your sweet lambada
So move your hips, there’s a beat, don’t pity the bass
I’m burning with you, like weed in the clubs, turn up the heat!

I’m ready to drop.
a like for all of you
If you know how to get loud.
Heat till morning, the crowd’s in a frenzy

But I look only on you only,
Do you feel me, girl?
And when the club starts to doze off in the morning
I’ll steal you away, like Azor stole the rose

I’ll smile in the silence and simply say:
Come to me, sunshine
Let your hair down (x3)
Come to me, sunshine

Let your hair down

Grammar notes

Dance! The present and the imperative of танцевать

«Танцуй» (Tantsuy) “dance”

Verbs ending in -овать or -евать replace that suffix with -у- in the present tense and in the imperative. So танцевать (to dance) gives танцую, “I dance”, which is also heard in this song, and the command танцуй, “dance!”. Рисовать (to draw) works the same way: рисую, рисуй. Add -те to speak to several people or to be polite: танцуйте.

Not enough of you: мало with the genitive and the dative

«мне тебя мало» (mne tebya malo) “you are not enough for me”

Мало means “little” or “not enough”. The thing that is lacking goes into the genitive, here тебя, the genitive of ты (you), and the person who feels the lack goes into the dative, мне (to me). Word for word it is “to me of you is little”, which is how Russian says “I can't get enough of you”. The same frame gives мне времени мало, “I don't have enough time”.

Come to me: the imperative of идти, and к with the dative

«Иди ко мне» (Idi ko mne) “come to me”

Иди is the imperative of идти (to go, to walk), the verb for going on foot in one direction; its partner ходить is for going around or going regularly. Russian uses иди for “come” as well, as in иди сюда, “come here”. К (to, toward) takes the dative, and мне is the dative of я (I). Before мне, к becomes ко, which is easier to say.

Heading somewhere: в with the accusative

«в тёплые края» (v tyoplye kraya) “to warmer places”

With a verb of motion, в takes the accusative for the place you are heading to, so the singer thought she had flown off в тёплые края, “to the warm lands”. Края is the plural of край (edge, land), and the adjective тёплые agrees with it. For where something already is, в and на take the prepositional instead, as in на танцполе, “on the dance floor”, later in the song.
